How many usable follicular units can be removed without visibly over-thinning the donor zone.
Start with the numbers.
Choose a treatment zone and adjust the graft count to see a preliminary base graft charge. The calculator is educational; an in-person evaluation determines candidacy, safe donor supply and the final plan.

Grafts are not the same as hairs.
A follicular unit—or graft—may contain one or more hairs. Responsible planning considers the donor area and long-term pattern, not only the size of today’s thin area.
Coarser fibers may create more visual coverage per graft than very fine hair.
Curl pattern affects extraction planning, placement angle and the appearance of density.
The design should account for likely progression so the result can age naturally.
What the number includes
The figure above is the graft count multiplied by the $0.99 starting promotional rate. It is not a complete treatment quote. A written quote should identify the recommended graft count and every applicable clinical, facility, medication and aftercare charge.
Why can the same area require different graft counts?
Area size, existing density, hair caliber, curl pattern, color contrast, donor supply and coverage goals all change the plan.
Does a higher graft count always mean a better result?
No. The safe donor supply and a natural long-term design matter more than maximizing a number.
Can I use the calculator if I do not know my graft count?
Yes. Select “I don't know how many grafts,” then continue to the quick form for an assessment.
